There’s a part of me that instinctively justifies this hustle, convinced there aren’t enough hours in the day to fit in everything I want to do and everyone I want to see. Yet, deep down, I know the profound importance of pausing, taking a breath, and embracing those much-needed moments of respite.

Lately, I’ve been making a conscious effort to slow down, to infuse my days with spontaneity, and simply to have more fun. It’s about finding joy in the small things and creating pockets of peace amidst the daily grind. So, when Haagen-Dazs reached out last month, inviting me to be a food blogger representative for their new Moments for Me campaign, I felt an immediate connection. The campaign’s core mission – to encourage everyone to carve out extra moments for fun, inspiration, and meaning – resonated deeply with my current philosophy.   • ½ teaspoon freshly-cracked black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely flaked or ground sea salt (smoked sea salt adds a unique, delicious twist)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats to ensure a beautifully crispy crust. If you don’t have a pizza stone, a standard baking sheet will work perfectly – simply place it in the oven during preheating as well, or you can place the flatbread directly on a cold sheet.
  2. Shape the Dough: On a lightly floured surface (you can use all-purpose flour or semolina for extra crispiness), gently roll out your pizza dough to your desired size and thickness. You can create one large, rustic flatbread or divide the dough into smaller portions for individual servings or a variety of shapes. Aim for about ¼ inch thickness for a balanced texture.
  3. Season the Flatbread: Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough to your preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Lightly brush the entire surface of the dough with olive oil. This not only adds flavor but helps the seasonings adhere and contributes to a golden, crispy crust. Generously sprinkle the top with Italian seasonings, ensuring an even layer. My very first package literally arrived “smoking” – a large, intriguing box filled with an assortment of Haagen-Dazs gelato, carefully packed with dry ice. It was a delightful and unexpected experience just unwrapping it! The limoncello flavor quickly became my absolute favorite, offering a vibrant and zesty escape. My furry friend, Henry, seemed to have his eye on the black cherry amaretto, proving that even our pets appreciate a good “moment for me!” This simple act of receiving a special treat was a beautiful reminder to pause and savor life’s small indulgences.
